During Lance's vacation we decided to go camping. We were so excited, we stocked up on food, borrowed my Grandpa's camper trailer, bought fishing licenses -- we were ready to go!! :) We like to try different places so we decided to go up by Meeks Cabin. The drive going through there was so beautiful! I remember going there on my 6th grade field trip there and it was so much fun! We decided beforehand that we were not going to stay at a campground because we were never really fond of them and we hate paying for them lol :) Well this is where some of the trouble began..... We drove around for a good half an hour looking at spots but none of them were that great so we decided to go ahead and drive through the campground to look. Well we found a couple of spots nothing that great but would work if we didn't find anything else, so then we decided well lets drive up the road further and see if we find something better! We loaded back in the truck and off we went.. up the road and up the road further till finally we were on this skimpy little road that lead to NO-WHERE (at least not by truck with camper)! By this time we were so frustrated because we went so far up just to have to turn around and go all the way back! So back to the campground we go! Talk about frustrating! Things were not going out way that's for sure!
So we got to the campground paid the fee and unloaded. Woo hoo here we come fish!!
There was a little trail from our camping area down to the lake so we gathered up everything and strolled on down! Well come to find out it was the biggest mud pit ever, we couldn't even stand there without sinking into the mud! Gabe lost his shoes in the mud, Rynn was covered and the fishing polls were just a mess! So back up to the campground we go! With no fish, one shoe and messy Rynn!
*This picture does no just justice of what Rynn looked like with all the mud, this was just what was left over from her face, I forgot to take the muddy picture*
We all just decided to hang out at the campground because at that time it was the best thing for us to do lol!
Lance brought his BB gun and taught Gabe how to shoot it! That was pretty interesting but with the luck we were having.. I am happy to report that nothing went wrong!! :)
After playing around it was getting pretty late so we decided to start the campfire and get dinner ready! Everything went well-- we ate, we chatted you know the usual! Not too long after we laid Rynn down for bed and she was coughing up a storm, she had a little cough for a couple days but nothing too extreme.. so I was just thinking she had some allergies or something! So off to bed Rynn went and then soon after that off to bed we all went! An hour later wake up time-- Rynn had woke up, so I went and grabbed her but she had puked all over this place! So needless to say we were up all night with a sick baby and of course while we weren't in the comfort of our own home! Sunrise hit -- we packed up and home we came!! And all I can say is no more camping for us this summer but next summer will be an all new adventure! Stay tuned!! :)
